Importance and interest in providing relevant and timely Camden
data
Relevant and timely data in the form of resource directories,
reports and announcements are important for everyone to help
guide the choices for services and accessible programs. The creation
of
CamdenResources follows in a long line of established Camden
groups who have sought to put vital information in the hands
of Camdenites.
In 2002, the Camden City Resource Directory, affectionately called “the
Purple Book” led by the Camden Neighborhood Renaissance group,
put together the first ever resource guide for the city of Camden.
CamdenResources initial community information was provided by
Camden City Resource Directory. CAMConnect: Linking Communities
with Information
(www.camconnect.org ) has created reports for understanding what
the facts of the 2000 census are telling us about our neighborhoods
and our city. The Camden City Youth Services Commission, with
over 47 members, is working toward the invitation to all groups
which
have city based youth involvements to help show how self-assessment
of youth services, programs and projects are helping to build
a quality standard for youth development in Camden. CamdenMatters
(www.camdenmatters.org) over the past four years has (provided
a
daily news clipping service from area papers, and a posting of
current events for Camden city and the surrounding areas. The
Camden City
website (www.ci.camden.nj.us) provides information for investment,
development and departmental contact information for all of those
interested in the city.
